ENGAGEMENTS / HOW WE PRICE

How we price.

Every proposal is a fixed number tied to a defined scope. This is what that number covers, what moves it, and what happens when the scope moves.

01 / THREE ENGAGEMENTS

Three ways to work with us.

Websites

Site builds

Fixed fee, quoted at discovery

Marketing sites from focused one-pagers to full multi-section builds with content strategy, custom design, and launch support.

Applications

Application builds

Scoped and phased

Portals, tools, and products delivered in defined phases, each with its own fixed fee — so scope stays honest and budgets stay predictable.

Ongoing

Care plans

Flat monthly fee

Hosting, monitoring, maintenance, and a priority queue for changes. Month to month — we earn the renewal, not lock it in.

  • Site builds — A straight marketing site is the simplest engagement: one firm price for the build, low touch, quoted at discovery. The number rises when the site has to connect to other tools — APIs, service keys, integrations — because that is where the engineering is.
  • Application builds — Each phase is scoped and priced on its own, so you can stop at a working system rather than an unfinished one, and the budget for the next phase is decided with the last one in hand.
  • Care plans — A flat monthly fee with no term. It covers the running of the site and a queue for small changes; anything larger is scoped as its own piece of work.
02 / WHAT A FIXED FEE COVERS

A firm price for the build.

The fee is for the website or application. Expenses incurred along the way are billed separately and shown in full — the distinction is what keeps a fixed fee honest.

  • A firm price for the build — The number in the proposal is the number for the build of the website or application. It does not tick up with hours.
  • Expenses, itemised separately — Things bought during the build — a domain, a database project, a telephony account — are billed as expenses, not folded into the fee. Every one is itemised in your portal.
  • Nothing hidden in the total — Fee, expenses, invoices, and outstanding balance are all visible in the portal throughout, so the total cost of the engagement is transparent at every point, not only at the end.
03 / WHAT MOVES THE NUMBER

Complexity, size, and what has to connect.

No rate card, because the same four words describe very different amounts of work. These are the things the quote is actually built from.

  • Complexity of the project — A marketing site and a multi-tenant application are different amounts of work, and are priced as such.
  • Integrations — Straight marketing sites are fixed-fee, low-touch work. Once APIs and service keys are involved — connecting the site to other web tools — the cost rises with the engineering.
  • Size of the organisation — Taken into account alongside the work itself.
  • Non-profit status — Considered in the pricing model. Say so at discovery.
04 / CHANGES MID-PROJECT

Change orders, in writing, in one place.

Scope moves on most projects. What matters is that both sides can see it move. The client portal is where that happens.

  • Submitted as tickets — A change you want mid-build goes into the portal as a ticket — a change order, in writing, that both of us can see.
  • Tracked by both sides — From submitted to in progress to done. Nothing is agreed on a call and then remembered differently.
  • Feedback beside the preview — Design feedback goes on the discussion board attached to each preview site, so it sits next to the thing it is about rather than in an email thread nobody can find later.
05 / THE PROPOSAL

In writing, within two days.

Discovery is a working session on your business and what the site or application must do. What comes back is the proposal.

  • Within 48 hours — We aim to have the proposal back to you within two days of the discovery call.
  • A written scope — What is being built, in enough detail that both sides can tell later whether it was.
  • A delivery schedule — When the stops fall and what you will see at each one.
  • Ownership at handover — Code, content, and accounts are yours. It is written into every engagement.
